Protein powders and supplements can be harmful

Experts warn those using food supplements and protein powders as a shortcut to fitness and weight loss to read the labels and do their homework first.
Loading up on protein can put stress on the organs, while supplements with caffeine or appetite suppressants can cause other health issues. Vitamin supplements are fine, as long as you have a deficiency.
Those who do intense exercise at least four times a week can benefit from protein powders, but they can be harmful to those who are only slightly active. Experts all agree that you should never use supplements as a food replacement.
